I have a job for the summer! I'm nannying 2 kids for a family I met while at the daycare.
I also have an interview for Student Admissions Ambassadors. Out of 100 applicants a little less than half were selected for interviews and then a little less than half of those interviewers will be selected as SAA members! So, I have one hurdle out of the way. My interview is on Sunday at 3:50pm so please say your prayers that I can do well and land a spot in SAA! I've wanted to be in SAA since the beginning of my Sophomore year. I just always was nervous that I wouldn't have time to be committed to it because the first year I was an RA and didn't know if I'd be able to balance both. Then for this year I had Intermediate Accounting and didn't know if I should add SAA on top of that! But now, I realized that if I want to try to become an SAA member, I need to apply now! Otherwise, there really isn't much time for me to actually participate. So, I applied! Even though I may be taking 17 credit hours next semester...
Anyways, in summary, yesterday was a horribly stressful day and today has turned out amazing!
Also, I have now woken up at 7:15-ish for the past 2 days. You should be so proud of me! haha. that never happens!

I caved...I'm going to try to nanny. I guess I'm just really impatient and have realized that even one nanny job may not work out because it isn't for the earlier part of the summer...it's for the later part, which I'm not entirely available for (RA training)! So, I caved and emailed the family I knew and that has a child not in school...*sigh* I also have discovered that I'm happy that I'm going into a field that has pretty good job security! haha!

Jobs
The running total is:
Allied
Nanny with a family I know (unless they find someone else)
Nanny with a family I don't know (but pays amazingly and only for 1 girl who is 9 years old!)
R&R Realty
maybe one more but no pressure.

It's been a while
It's be quite a while since I've written.
Life is hectic, crazy, stressful, etc.
I currently and getting back into the swing of things after a very nice and relaxing Spring Break. I had a great time. Josh and I were able to see each other everyday minus Wednesday.
I slept in everyday as well. It was very nice. Somehow I did not catch up on sleep. Usually after I sleep a lot, there will be one night where I won't be able to fall asleep because I'm not tired or it'll work that I'll go to bed and then wake up on my own relatively early. This did not happen. Not even once! haha! I was really hoping I would get to that point. But I did not.
I also went to a baby shower for one of my good friends, Leeanne. She currently lives in Wichita so it was wonderful to see her! I greatly enjoyed it although there were only 3 of us that were Leeanne's age (including Leeanne). So yes...
Internship search is going...that's all I can really say about that. I have my resume out to 3 people/companies and am hoping that one of them works out. Today was a very dilemma filled day. I received an email from a mom whose child I cared for while I worked at Koalaty Time. She asked if I wanted to nanny for them this summer. They have a kindergartner and a 2 1/2 year old. I immediately wanted to say yes! BUT what happens if I get an internship?? Grrr. So I had to decide if one of these internships was actually going to turn into something. I've pretty much decided that no, R&R Realty isn't going to happen. I submitted my resume but their GPA requirement is a 3.5 (in my opinion a 3.5 is ridiculously high as a requirement!). Allied would be nice because it would be a paying job with the title of internship attached. My last option is an "I hope so/That would be fantastic" but no pressure ;) . So, what do I do? In the end I emailed her back and laid it out for her and said "I understand if you want to find someone else that doesn't have string attached and I will keep you posted on how my search goes." She emailed back and basically said they were going to look for someone else but did want me to let her know how it went just in case.
Right now I'm just completely paranoid that I'm going to end up job-less this summer. With the way internships are lining up (or you could say the way they aren't...) mixed with this oh-so-lovely economy....I'm scared! And believe me, I am determined not to work in retail!!! But what happens if those are the only jobs available for summer-only people like me!? :-(
G'night

It's about time I wrote something
So, how's life? Well, let me tell you...
But seriously, life is ok. I feel like I'm just treading water and yet in certain aspects I'm drowning. School has consumed my life, along with my job. So, since I need to do this and I don't want to write...here's my to-do list before Spring Break:
Thanks for holding in there....if you did! That was mainly just for me!

Home!
I'm going home this weekend! Josh and I are leaving on Friday, staying Friday night at home, and then I'm going shopping on Saturday for a suit because my current one doesn't fit anymore (that's another story!), then we are leaving Saturday night to come back here. The main reason we aren't staying Saturday night is because I truly don't get anything done when I am at home. I have an Accounting Information Systems test next week and need to make over 100 note cards for it this weekend...so that's why...
I was hoping to surprise my family by driving into the driveway and showing up unexpected. This plan was ruined when Josh called his parents and told his dad who then proceeded to tell my dad at the concession stands tonight! My mom called and I was in a house program so I didn't answer and left a message asking if I was coming home or if it was just Josh. So I try and call home, dad's cell, mom's cell, and Josh; none of whom answer their phones....*sigh*
Also, if you were to call and hear my voice right now it would sound horrible. I have a cold that went straight to my vocal cords/throat/chest! I just woke up this morning with it! It's fun stuff.
But yes, I am coming home this weekend, shopping, then coming back and studying! woot!

What's New:
So, a lot (kind of) has been going on.
First, I chose to return as an RA next year for my third year. I'm excited but also a little nervous. I think it will take Spring Training to energize me. Right now I'm still focused on this year. Plus, I am still bummed about not getting ROTH. Not upset really...I just know I would've loved it there.
Second, my work out class is damaging me. I thought I had shin splints, but my boss's husband who is an AD at a highschool along with coach for softball and football sent me this thing about shin splints. And, while it is painful, some of the symptoms just are not present. I've never had shin splints before so I'm kind of out of the loop and clueless. I decided I'm going to rest. If it doesn't get better before Monday I will probably go see a doctor. Who knows...I certainly don't.
Third, school stinks! Classes are ridiculous. And, it's really difficult just due to teaching styles. 3 of the 4 professors I have utilize PowerPoint and that's pretty much all they do. 2 of those professors have quizzes over each chapter and you don't know when they'll be. So, you really have to keep up on the reading. I can not learn and absorb information strictly by reading and listening to a professor read directly from a powerpoint slide. I can't do it! I'm better off in Intermediate Accounting than any class because it requires me to only study before class, teach myself, and I take notes on everything. Writing is how I absorb information. I can't write notes for every class. It takes approximately 6 hours of studying for 8 to 10 pages in intermediate. Think of my management classes that have 30 page chapters!!! That would be 18 hours for one chapter! That will NEVER happen! But if it did, I would be phenomenal in all my classes!
Fourth, and this kind of goes along with the previous point...Time is a true struggle for me. To be able to perfectly balance school, RA job, residents, posting of signs, Josh, relationships with staff, meetings for Fall Training and NRHH, exercising, sleeping, eating, checking emails, etc seems impossible! Josh and I don't eat together on Tuesdays...this week was nearly impossible to eat together mainly due to my odd schedule with RA interviews...It was rough. And for some reason, that scheduled time to just sit, eat, and see his face seems to be a necessity because I got all off-kilter when we hadn't seen each other for 2 days! Ay yi yi....if I were a superhero, Time would be the villian! ha!
Fifth, next weekend in Valentine's Day Weekend. No plans. Maybe I'll ask for the gift of help to organize? Yeah, it's free and includes spending time together so it works for me!
